Randstad has partnered with a national multi-disciplinary consulting firm to acquire an experienced Building Code Consultant / Surveyor to join their specialist compliance team based at a major Federal Airport site.

Your New Opportunity
Our Client is on the lookout for an experienced Building Surveyor to join their dedicated team, based full-time at the Airport precinct. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across a diverse project portfolio—including large-scale commercial buildings (Class 3–9) and complex aviation developments—within a highly regulated and specialized environment.

Reporting to the onsite Airport Building Controller, you will work at the forefront of compliance in a federally governed context, collaborating closely with clients, consultants, and key airport stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct BCA/NCC assessments (Volumes 1 & 2) and provide expert regulatory advice.
  • Issue permits and authorizations in accordance with the relevant Federal Airports Act and Building Control Regulations.
  • Undertake detailed on-site inspections and prepare comprehensive compliance reports.
  • Engage in performance-based solution assessments in collaboration with fire engineers and emergency services.
  • Represent the Airport Building Controller in client meetings, workshops, and compliance training sessions.
  • Navigate a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with confidence and clarity.

Skills and Credentials

  • Accreditation or ability to become accredited with a recognized statutory body (AIBS, Building & Plumbing Commission, NSW Government, Access Canberra).
  • Tertiary qualifications in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related field.
  • Expert working knowledge of the BCA/NCC (Volumes 1 & 2) and referenced Australian Standards.
  • Proven experience working across a diverse portfolio of commercial or infrastructure projects.
  • Australian citizenship is required for mandatory baseline security clearance.
